This painting is my first time painting with Natural Pigments Flake White #2. I don’t often get worked up about a specific paint, but this flake white is truly wonderful.

The consistency is perfect for sculpting flower petals – and I find that lately I’m trying more to make the paint describe the subject rather than trying to draw with the paint – if that makes sense.

Rather than trying to draw with the tip of the brush, I’m attempting to lay the paint on and push it about with the whole of the brush so that it creates the shape I want – I think I’m getting closer to what I’m looking for with flower paintings with it.

It’s not every day you can say a new tube of paint changed the way you use your brush!

Best wishes,
Paul
