Eye Drawing Number Two

Nose drawing number two

Second nose, my nose this time, drawn from life in daylight.

I spent about an hour on this one, and found it more difficult than I expected, perhaps because noses are prettymuch fleshy lumps without a lot of sharp edges. Well, mine is anyway.

I think I’ve fallen intomy old habit of losing the main shapes a little by putting too much detail into the shadows, but overall Ithink it came out ok.

Again I’ve struggled with the proportions. The width across the nostrils is a bit too big in relation to thelength, something I’ll have to watch in future drawings. Overall I’m fairly happy with the balance of tones, although I think the main cast shadow under the nose should be a bit deeper. I think cast shadows are generallydarker than edge shadows, if I remember I’ll try to observe that a little more carefully on the next nose drawingand see if its true.
