Self Portrait Drawing, 11th December 2005

self portrait 11th December 2005

Seventh in the series – a self portrait a day until Christmas.

I guess this is the tonal drawing I was planning to do yesterday.

Although this doesn’t really look like me, I really like the drawing. Again I did itwithout any measurements, just drawing shapes then moving on to the next one.

The last one I did like this on the9th December had no eyesand Michelle said it scared her, so I put eyes in this one. Its a more complete drawing all round. The roll-up was just there when I came to restate the jaw at the end, so it ended up in thepicture. Also as you can probably see I’ve just shaved my head, number 2.

I think this is probably the strongest drawing so far. I felt some of my old energy when I was hackingin the shapes. Even though the drawing itself isn’t that good, I think the energy kind of comes across.Even though this drawing looks less like me it has more of me in it.

The drawing from the 9th is much more accurate than this one, but I like this one more because it’sstronger. Hopefully by the end of this little project I’ll have produced at least one drawing which hasaccuracy and energy.

    – It just takes one click in the fraction of a seocnd to capture a lifetime of memories. We think you just may have captured the right fraction. Thanks for your patience. She looks beautiful and exactly as she really is. Nothing phony or contrived. Thanks Dawn, Mary and the rest of the gang. It was truly a group effort to make it happen.
