Sugar Bowl, Teaspoon, Walnut Shell – a Value Study in Black and White Chalk

This value study is part of the series of 100 Still Life Drawings I began to practice values repeatedly – until I hopefully learned something!

I that, by this point, I was starting get more of a handle on value. The cloth in this study is white, but I kept its value low in the drawing so that the highlight on the little silver sugar bowl could sing out more.
