Session Six of the workshop will be here on:
Monday 14th December at 6PM UK Time (10AM Pacific, 1PM Eastern)
What we’ll be doing
We’ll be continuing with our last subject of the workshop that we started in last week’s session.
This session will mostly be about making adjustments to values where we think we’ll need them, and resolving and refining the forms of the objects to bring the painting closer to a finish.
We’ll be paying particular attention to focus, resolving spome parts more than others.
To some extent, this will differ for each of your paintings, so I’ll be running this session a little more freely, picking out what I feel I need to refine on my painting and adjust and showing yuou how I do it.
We will also be completing the forms we didn’t get to complete in the last session of course.
Tube paints
Please have the following ready on your palette:
- Titanium White
- Bright Yellow Lake (or other green-yellow. An arylide yellow like Hansa yellow or similar is best)
- Yellow Ochre
- Quinacridone Rose (another quinacridone blue-red will probably be fine. A more orange red like cad res will do, but then you’ll need something to pull it more blue, like a magenta, too)
- Green Gold
- Transparent Oxide Red
- Raw Umber
- Ivory Black
- Winsor Green Yellow Shade ( any phthalo green will do)
Also have a palette knife and a rag or some kitchen roll etc for wiping out.
You may or may need to add a very thin oil layer to small areas that you want to work on again. This can only be done if the area in questiuon is touch dry, though.
Brushes
Sticking with the brushes you used in the last session will be best, although you probably wont need the larger background brushges, unless you want to make changes there.
