Japanese Cup, Teaspoon and Shell – Still life Drawing Number Forty-four

Still life drawing number forty-four - Japanese Cup, Teaspoon and Shell

 Charcoal and white conte

Enough with those daft little drawings!

I don’t know why, but I just wanted to let rip a bit today. Maybe this drawing was my birthday present to myself (41 today, 41 today…) or maybe I just lost it for a day.

Either way, I enjoyed doing this drawing. The hatching with the charcoal and the cutting in with the rubber doesn’t really add anything, but it was more exhilarating to do than my usual three inch wide tonal studies.

This is, however, an aberration. I’m not planning to do any more like this, it’s not like it’s a ‘new direction’ or anything. Do not adjust your browser. Normal service will be resumed shortly.
