Threads Live Session Two, April 2021

The second live Threads session for April 20201 will be here on:

Wednesday 28th April

at

6PM UK time (10AM Pacific, 1PM Eastern)

What we’ll be doing

In this session, we’ll be devloping our primsorse paintings a little further, resolving the flowers and looking for where we can make improvements to the overall value balance.

What you’ll need

Your painting from last week’s session.

Recommended palette:

  • Titanium White
  • A green-ish yellow. Cadmium yellow lemon, bright yellow lake (MH) or lemon yellow should all be fine.
  • Cadmium yellow
  • Yellow Ochre
  • Green gold if you have it
  • Ultramarine blue
  • Quinacridone rose (or other blue red, a magenta would work)
  • Possibly ultramarine blue if your blue-red (see above) is too red
  • Raw Umber
  • Ivory Black

We’ll be painting into a couch as usual, so linseed oil. Since this is the second session, we’ll just apply a little oil without solvent.

I’d estimate we’ll be going for around three hours. We’ll be taking ten minute breaks every hour or so.
