Threads Live Session Two, March 2021

The second live session for Threads this month will be here on:

Wednesday 24th March

at

6PM UK time (11AM Pacific, 2PM Eastern)

We’ll be continuing with our March project piece, beginning by laying a couch down over the whole painting.

Once that’s done, we’ll be looking at any big statements that we think might need tweaking – the overall values and edge handling. The changes will of course be slightly different for everyone, but I’ll talk through how I’ll approach this part of the process on my study. We’ll be looking mostly at values and edges.

Once that’s done, we can add our final element, the little cappucino cup.

Now, I know that some people have already put there’s in, so you’ll be looking mostly at what you might need to change here.

The final stage will be looking at specific areas where a little more detail might help the study sing a bit more.

What you’ll need

Your painting from the first session of course, and the same brushes and palette too:

Recommended palette:

  • Titanium White
  • Ivory Black
  • Raw Umber
  • Yellow Ochre
  • Ultramarine blue
  • Quinacridone rose (or other red)

We’ll be painting into a couch as usual, so linseed oil and a solvent too.
