Date: Wednesday 18th March, 6PM UK time (10am pacific, 1PM eastern)
Topic: Paint-along value exercises: I’ll be supplying you with a high-res reference photo (desaturated) of a simple still life set up. We’ll then explore how to approach the values by painting a study of it together.
If you have the Munsell student book, premixing and tubing neutrals values 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 will be very useful for you. If not, try to mix up a value scale ready with ivory black and titanium white before the live stream. If you have ivroy black, titanium white, a value between them and then another between each of those, you’ll have a five-step value scale which will be sufficient.
Ideally, you’ll have a value scale mixed up to match the Munsell values 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9, plus ivory black and titanium white.
If you don’t have the Munsell book, take titanium white and ivory black and mix a value visually between them. then mix one between each of those. that will give you a 5-step value scale which will be enough for this exercise.

Note that some of hte large value areas are different here, so this version is just to make it easier to simplify the shapes of the areas of value.
