A few weeks ago, I posted some simple instructions for a drawing exercise that will help you to see more deeply, to focus more effectively, and to build a closer connection with nature through your drawing.
Today, I want to show you some of the results of that exercise: As part of Creative Triggers, my drawing habit program, we have a drawing challenge every month.
The challenge might be something fairly simple like a blind contour drawing every day. It might be a simple exercise to stretch creativity, like drawing mandalas, or perhaps a composition exercise.
In July, we took small elements from nature, leaves or small flowers, and drew them, mindfully.
In this video, I’ll take you through the basic instructions for this exercise – anyone can do it, and it only takes 20 minutes or so – and show you some examples from our members.
I hope this inspires you to set yourself your own challenge. Why not try this simple exercise, every day, once a day in September?
What’s really beautiful about these drawings isn’t the drawings themselves – as lovely as they are. It’s that each of the people who did them are developing and growing through sharing their artistic journey, supporting each other as they go.

Best wishes,
